Yeasayer

I guess it was nearly a 2 years back that I went to NYC to visit friends and it was late one night that my friend Casey called to ask us to stop by the Cake Shop where he worked the soundboard. Mind you, he didn’t ask because he was terribly interested in the music or thought that we would be, but so that we could get together and get a drink afterward. Anyway, this band began playing and they were astounding. Really, really good and quite a show. They were 3 and they kept a steady and interesting beat with a couple of drums and great harmonizing, kind of reminiscent of Talk Talk or This Heat. A little like 80s music generally mixed with a chant. So then the show was over and we got our drink. I kept buggin Casey to get me a CD of this band for the next year and a half and last week when he visited, I got a copy of their EP.

I hope these guys come to San Diego sometime. They are really good.
